Welcome to the BSA Troop 230 Website

BSA Troop 230’s program revolves around the great outdoors.  We are a backpacking troop and will start hitting the trail in March and go until November.  Most of our backpacking has been on the Appalachian Trail in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  We average 5-7 hikes per year with at least 3 of them being overnight trips or longer.  Recently we have completed a 5 mile hike at Rickets Glen State Park in the Pocono’s.  Some other trails that we have hike are French Creek, Hickory Run State Park, and Monacacy Hill, a very local trail that is approximately 5 miles of various terrain and small challenges along the way as to not discourage the boys.  This is a great way to introduce the boys to hiking.

WE'RE BACK! WHAT A WEEK!

Posted on Jul 21 2010 - 4:20pm

GOOD MORNING!

I hope all of you had time to take a look at the pictures from summer camp - they tell the story better than any one person could.  What a FABULOUS week!  From start to finish, our scouts showed us that all of their training, their planning, and their dedication to the program can shine through - even when there are 400 other scouts around from all over the Tri-State area!

URGENT-Youth Protection Training-REQUIRED

Posted on Jul 21 2010 - 4:20pm

As many of you begin preparing for the 2010-2011 Scouting year, make sure that your Youth Protection Training is up to date. To check this, log into MyScouting and select E-Learning and make sure you have a green circle next to Youth Protection Training. Or, the council registrar can check your training records in the computer system. Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers, regardless of their position (including committee members and Chartered Organization Representatives), and it must be renewed every two years.

Merit Badge Booklets

Posted on Jul 21 2010 - 4:19pm

Now that Summer Camp is over and you are finished with your merit badge booklets. Please return to Sean T.  You do not need to return the historical badge merit book pamphlets. If you currently have books out, please notify Sean T. that you have them. We are trying to obtain a current inventory and would like to have it updated.   Also if we do not receive them back, it cost us more money to purchase new ones.  Thank you
